About the Original Artwork
“Riding through the Pine Forest” (Songlin Yangbian Tu) by Tang Yin shows scholars riding out together through pines and blossoming trees as the spring snow melts. Tang Yin’s poem in the upper left reads: “Before Mount Nüji the spring snow melts; by the road, apricot trees put out soft shoots. We meant to enjoy this day together, carrying wine and riding over the country bridge.” (translation ours). The original, ink and colour on silk, is in the collection of the Lüshun Museum.
