About the Original Artwork
“Snowy Landscape with Winter Forest” (Xuejing Hanlin Tu) is a monumental Northern Song landscape attributed to Fan Kuan. Snow-covered peaks rise above a dense winter forest, with a small temple and village half-hidden among the trees beside a frozen river. The original, ink and light colour on silk, is in the collection of the Tianjin Museum.
Meaning
The stillness of winter: a calm, contemplative scene for a study or living room.
