About the Artwork
“Nine Koi Fish” shows nine colourful koi swimming together among water plants, painted in the traditional Chinese ink-and-colour style.
Meaning
In Chinese, the word for “fish” sounds like “abundance”, and nine is associated with longevity, so nine koi wish the household lasting wealth and good fortune. Koi swimming upstream also symbolise perseverance and success. A popular feng shui piece for living rooms and entryways.
