About the Artwork
“Bamboo and Rock” is an ink painting in the manner of Zheng Banqiao, the Qing-dynasty painter celebrated for his bamboo. Slender stalks of bamboo rise beside a sturdy rock, accompanied by the artist’s calligraphic inscription and seals, which are part of the original composition.
Meaning
Bamboo bends in the wind but never breaks, and the rock stands unmoved: together they symbolise integrity, resilience and perseverance. A classic choice for a study, office or living room.
